Review of How to Think by Tom Chatfield

In How to Think, Tom Chatfield provides a short, clear and understandable introduction to the basics of critical thinking, condensing many of the lessons from his textbook Critical Thinking from 2017.

The book discusses our biases, the importance of scepticism, the (mis)use of rhetoric and how to construct arguments that are based on reason. Tom Chatfield also discusses the impact of technology on our ability to think clearly and how to evaluate numbers and evidence in a clear and reasoned way.

This book is a great introduction to the basics of critical thinking including tools and techniques to help you avoid mistakes and fallacies and have a clear and reasoned (reasonable) view of the world.
