A great introduction to behavioural economics

Behavioral Economics: The Basics (Second Edition) is perhaps the best introduction to the field that I have read. Philip Corr and Anke Plagnol provide a great overview of the history, theory and practice of behavioural science and importantly they place this firmly in the context of classical economics.

The authors cover some of the key issues, including touching on recent controversies of data quality and replication although this second edition was published before the latest news on fraudulent data and retraction of papers (Dan Ariely’s work is still cited).

The book is comprehensive, up-to-date and easy to read, so recommended for anyone new to the field.
